Work Experience
A work experience placement provides a unique opportunity to gain an insight into what it is like to work at our firm and in the wider legal profession.
Students aged 16 - 17
Please note that unfortunately we cannot currently offer work experience to students younger than 18 years of age. We are reviewing our work experience offering for A Level and International Baccalaureate students.
Students aged 18 +
Successful applicants, normally second or final year law students or final year non-law students and postgraduates, are invited to apply to our work experience programme. We offer one week placements (in spring) to four students each year.
A work experience placement provides a unique opportunity to gain an insight into what it is like to work for our law firm. We offer four students one week placements (in spring) each year.
Working full-time, you will spend time supporting several departments. You may be given the opportunity to undertake research, draft letters and documents. Wherever possible we try to include opportunities to attend client meetings, court or tribunals.
You will work closely with a current trainee solicitor in each practice area, alongside other lawyers and members of the team.
Normal working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Please note that we are unable to offer accommodation or to reimburse any travel costs.
Students who have, or expect to obtain, a minimum of a 2.1 (hons) degree are encouraged to apply. We will consider applications from second or final year law students and final year non-law students and postgraduates.
We would particularly like to receive applications from students who are looking to apply for a training contract with the firm in the future.

The application process for 2023 work experience placements opens on Tuesday 2 January 2024, with a closing date of Wednesday 31 January 2024. You will be informed by Friday 1 March 2024 if you have been selected to participate in our work experience programme.
