Blandy & Blandy is inviting local charities to apply for its support.
From 1 July this year, Blandy & Blandy will ‘adopt’ two new local charities for a two-year period, succeeding the firm’s current charities, Wokingham-based The Cowshed and Reading-based Berkshire Women’s Aid. Colleagues have spent time volunteering with both charities, alongside holding a wide range of fundraising events.
In the past decade Blandy & Blandy has donated over £120,000 to local charities and good causes, including Reading Samaritans, The League of Friends at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Make Henley Shine, Younger People with Dementia, The Kenton Theatre, Henley in Bloom, Wokingham Lions Club, Camp Mohawk, Launchpad Reading, the Wokingham Community Awards, Link Visiting Scheme, Arts4Wokingham, Daisy’s Dream, Babies in Buscot Support and the Royal Berks Charity.
Separately, last year the firm received special recognition from Cancer Research UK, which Blandy & Blandy has supported for over 25 years, for administering £10.14 million in donations and facilitating more than £2.15 million in legacy gifts pledged to the charity via its Free Will Service.
Alix Simpson, Chief Executive at Berkshire Women’s Aid, said: "Berkshire Women’s Aid (BWA) has had the great pleasure to be one of Blandy & Blandy’s chosen charities for the past two years. Colleagues welcomed us as a genuine partner, offering us unwavering support, collaboration and generosity. It had been an honour to work with such an engaging and enthusiastic team.”
Rebecca Mole, Fundraising Manager at The Cowshed, added: “We are truly honoured to have been chosen by Blandy & Blandy and are deeply grateful for the incredible partnership we’ve enjoyed over the past two years. From their fantastic fundraising events to the generous invitations to your occasions, networking opportunities, and hands-on volunteering, the firm’s unwavering support has made a meaningful impact on our work at The Cowshed. Blandy & Blandy’s outstanding commitment to the local community is truly inspiring.”
To be considered, charities must be local (not national) charities and based within a fifteen-mile radius of one of Blandy & Blandy’s offices in Reading, Henley-on-Thames and Wokingham. The closing date for applications is Friday 4 April 2025.
